To be honest, Gamomat is not known for creating visually appealing slots, and much of this game, especially the playing card symbols, is disappointing. However, certain elements, such as the game title and the background image depicting the standards of a Roman legion marching into battle, are very well done and show that Bally Wulff is capable of better graphics than what is typically seen in their games.
A Legion of Imitations
When looked at on its own, Roman Legion is a decent, though not very exciting, video slot game. However, when compared to the rest of Bally Wulff’s collection, it becomes clear that Roman Legion is just another copy, featuring the same features and layout as its counterparts.
In all fairness, Gamomat is not the only developer guilty of this practice. Many software developers release slightly modified versions of existing games, changing only the theme.
Controls and Settings
The following details will be familiar to anyone who has played a Gamomat slot game before, but it’s worth mentioning nonetheless. At the top left of the screen, there are two icons: a full-screen button and a settings cogwheel that opens a window with 3 controls. You can choose to spin using the space bar, which is enabled by default. Additionally, you can activate automatic free games entry and turbo spin.

The standard playing card symbols have varying values, with rewards ranging from 500,000 to 750,000 for getting 5 of the same kind in a row (A and K are the highest).
Gold coins or the winged golden eagle are valued at 3,750,000 for 5 matching symbols, while 5 Roman standards offer a reward of 5,000,000.
At the top of the payout ladder is the Roman centurion, leading his troops into battle. Landing 5 centurions in a row will earn you 12,500,000. The centurion also acts as a wild symbol, substituting for regular symbols on the reels.
Aside from matching symbols, there are other ways to win in this game, such as through the scatter symbol. The scatter symbol shows a horse with a Roman soldier in battle attire and offers 10 free games when you get 3 scatters on reels 1, 3, or 5.
Additionally, you can try your luck with the card gamble or ladder gamble features. In the card gamble, you have to guess the color of the next card to either double your winnings or lose them.
